We are looking for a Woodwork Assistant who can contribute to the production of furniture and training beginner/ developing woodworkers. Candidates must have a joinery of cabinet-making qualification, or equivalent on the job training, and experience in a professional joinery workshop.
This opportunity would be well suited to newly qualified woodworkers who are looking to build some experience in a profession work. Or an established professional working part time who is looking to acquire experience training others.
Training
Training will be provided on-site and will be on-going.
Key Qualities or Skills required
Recognised woodworking qualification, or demonstrable experience of working in a woodwork profession.
Experienced using industrial woodwork machinery.
Knowledge of both traditional and modern furniture manufacturing techniques.
Demonstrable creative skills, and ability to apply creative thinking to designing and making furniture, often with recycled wood.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.
Empathetic and adaptable to the support needs of vulnerable adults.
Physically able to assist with manual working procedures, including using tools, and manual handling of heavy objects.
Willingness to travel, and work on-site to assist with the installation of furniture and collection of materials throughout the UK.
Flexible attitude, and open-minded to assisting other areas of the project as required.
